There was once a certain poor man who owned a small parcel of land that his father had left him. One day he went into town to buy seed and food to live on.

It was the time of planting.

When he got to town, there were many merchants and farmers selling seed. Some were selling seed at different prices; one sold seed at 25 cents a bag, another sold it at 50 cents a bag, while yet another was asking $1.00 a bag. This poor man only had $10.00 to his name. As he looked at all the different seed, he noticed a friend who owned a parcel of land very near his own. This man was selling his seed for $20.00 per seed! The poor man couldn’t believe his eyes. He knew this other man and trusted him more than all his other friends. He approached him to enquire of the price.

His farmer friend told him that it was a very special seed that had been bred and produced in another country and was well worth the asking price. The poor man said, “I only have this $10.00 to my name and I need it to buy bags of seed to plant and food to live on.” His friend said to him, “What is this $15.00 difference to us? We are friends and neighbors. I will sell you this one seed at my cost which is $5.00. Take your other $5.00 and buy food to live. Only take this seed and guard it with your life. For there are enemies that have come from the same far country who are not only trying to buy up all of the seed; but they are stealing that which they cannot buy.

“If you tend this seed, it will grow into a great vine and produce the choicest of grapes. When it does, come back and pay me the remaining $15.00 with no interest. And I will also buy your harvest at fair market value.”

This poor man went away glad and did all that the husbandman had told him. He planted this seed deep in his garden. He dug deep around it and put in a fence and a gate. He took out all of the rocks and all of the thorns and thistles. He pulled out all the weeds. He watered it with the purest of water, and fertilized it. He watched it and protected it daily. He drove the fouls away that came to take it. Whenever he saw a weed springing up trying to steal the vines water, he immediately recognized it and plucked it out by the roots. He nurtured it and pruned it . It meant everything to him. You see, he knew the value of what he had.

Over the process of time, it grew into a great vine and produced much fruit. He decided to not only sell the fruit, but to build a winepress and make a bottle of the finest wine to present to his friend in appreciation of the $15.00 loan. He went to his friends house to give him the $15.00 and the wine. The vinedresser received him into his house and they shared of the wine. The poor man told his friend how very difficult it was to have grown and tended this vine; but that in the end it was well worth it. The merchant-man bought his harvest at fair market value as promised. He was so impressed that this poor man had done exactly as he was bidden, that he said to the poor man, “You have excelled well in your planting, and in your tending, and in your harvest. Look and behold how large my own vineyard is! I am away on business most of the time, and if you would like, I would like to make you one of my husbandmen. Please tend my fields and root out all that offends. I will make you part owner and you may share in its profits. Behold, my servants are now your servants. Take them and teach them what you have done.” This new-found rich man then made some of the servants vinedressers, and some of them cultivators whose job it was to take out all the weeds and rocks which were continually placed in the fields by his enemies. He assigned some to be irrigators, some to be pruners, and some to be watchmen. And yet others he assigned to mend the walls and the fences.

And this man rejoiced in all his labors, and in his abundance that was entrusted to him.

Adam had dominion over the whole earth, not just the garden. How could he do this? How could he manage all the affairs of his Father’s house while living in the garden of eden? He lived in the spirit ~ he walked in the glory. He was a spiritual man!! He lived in two worlds at one time!! There is no time or distance in the spirit. Adam was living a totally spiritual life. It was natural to him. Have you ever wondered at the phrase “And they HEARD the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden…” They heard God spiritually. They didn’t hear Him with their natural flesh-and-bone ears. When God came and said “Adam, where art thou?” Don’t you think the Lord knew where Adam was physically? He knew Adam was hiding in the bushes. He was saying “Adam, where are you spiritually?” He was trying to get Adam to locate himself spiritually. And this has been the Lord’s cry down through the ages. Nothing has changed. I personally believe Enoch lived out in this place too. Sheds new light on Ephesians 2:22 doesn’t it? A habitation (dwelling place) of God IN THE SPIRIT. Brother’s, what’s your spiritual address? Where can the Lord reach you at? Are you hiding in the garden? They came to the Lord Jesus and said “Lord, where dwellest thou?” I just love what He said to them: “come and see”.

Now let’s look at some very poignant verses in John 17. There are 3 verses out of this chapter I want to bring your attention to: Verses 11 & 12 & 24.
“And now I am no more in the world”
“While I was with them in the world”
“Father, I will that they also…be with me where I am“

Jesus was still sitting at the table at the last supper with His disciples. He had not gone to the cross yet. He was still on the earth among them when he made these statements. Now look again at the bolded portions of the above verses. Do you see it? Jesus was living in another world when He made these statements. He said that He spoke nothing except that which He heard the Father say first (John 8:28 and 8:38 especially); He said He did nothing except that which He saw His Father do first (John 5:19). Have you ever thought ‘”how did He hear these things ~ how did He see these things’”? He lived, communed, listened, saw, learned (John 6:45), and yes worked (John 5:17) in the Spirit. Have you ever wondered about Jacob’s ladder in Genesis 28:12? Read it real quick. Sounds like the same ladder in John 1:51 doesn’t it? Well sure it is!! What’s going on here? A direct pipeline to Heaven, a direct ministry to and from heaven. Brother’s and sister’s, this is life in the spirit. How bad do we really want this? Truth has a price tag on it, there’s a price to pay (Prov. 23:23). Very few are willing to pay it though, because it’s a lonely road; it’s a broken road, and a place of great breaking. Great breaking!! A breaking of what you say? A breaking of your will. Peter said “It’s the Lord, It’s the Lord” and jumped out of the boat and swam to the shore only to be confronted by the Lord on the shore of his own heart. I pray you will meditate deeply and thoroughly on what took place in Genesis 32:24-31 I love how it starts…”Jacob was left alone” and I love how it ends…”the sun rose upon him.”
Consecrated lives is what He’s after. Do you really know what consecration means?

The Basis of consecration is “God’s Purchase” (1 Cor. 6:20)
The Motive of consecration is the “Love of Christ” (2 Cor. 5:14)
The Meaning of consecration is “Sacrifice” (Romans 12:1)
The Purpose of consecration is “Service” (2 Cor. 5:14-15) &
The Result of consecration is……………… a Heap of Ashes (a total abandonment of the future)

A yielded heart, a reverent heart, a changed heart is what He’s after brethren. My heart is overflowing towards you and for you. Let’s live in this place, in this reality. Let’s do what Hebrews (graduate school) 6:1 says. Let’s leave these elementary things that we’ve been walking in and go on unto perfection. See you on the front lines.

Walking together with you on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:15)

Last year I sensed from the Lord that He wanted me to start sharing spiritual things with my friends in a kind of devotional way. And now I have a blog.
It is time we began to shift our thinking and progress in spiritual matters. There is a “finish” that we need to see. So this is going to be one of the venue’s I will use to disseminate these truths to you. I have come by many of these truths the hard way; by being broken by God, by being searched by God, by going around the same mountain many times (Deut. 2:1-3) It is truly my prayer that you will be blessed as I have been by these truths. I shared with the brothers and sisters today that God’s intent has never changed. What He started in the beginning, He will have in the end. Genesis 2:12 says that both the trees were in the midst of the garden. They may have been side-by-side. The fruit on the tree of life was Christ in palatable form. We see this in John 6. What did Adam not have? The fulness of Christ as mentioned in Colossians 2:9-10 and 2 Cor. 3:18. I have always said that the Father has always wanted His creation to just see His Son, to experience His Son, to Love His Son, to appreciate His Son. Adam could of had this, yet he choose to eat of the wrong tree. What did this tree represent? It was the tree of independence. To be independent of God. The other tree represented total trust and reliance on God – total dependence. Notice something in Galatians 1:15-16 “But when it pleased God, who seperated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by His grace, to REVEAL HIS SON IN ME!!. Brothers, this is huge!! Think of what is being said here; Paul is saying that the reason he was even born and called was so that God could reveal His Son Jesus in him. This was and still is the Father’s original intent: to reveal His Son in us. Not necessarily to us, but in us! His intent even goes deeper than this; please see Ephesians 3:8-11. So often we read the Word of God, yet we fail to see.

I want to say something here. Proverbs 28:14 NKJV reads, “Happy is the man who is always reverent.” We need to reverence His Word. Not just read it, but be in awe of it. David said in Psalm 138:2 that He has magnified His Word above His name. When He speaks, mountains tremble, legions of soldiers fall back and to the ground, entire worlds are created. John said His voice was as the sound of many waters, mighty thunderings, the sound of a great multitude. His Word is powerful. His Word raised the Lord from the grave!! Think of it!!

Our hearts should be overflowing with gratitude and appreciation for His Word. This is enough for today. My prayer for you is the same as what Jabez prayed when he said in 1 Chron. 4:10 “enlarge my coast (territory)” and also what David prayed in Psalm 119:32 “enlarge my heart”. Oh God, enlarge our spiritual capacity to receive. You said in Acts 13:36 that David served his generation. Precious Heavenly Father, we want to serve our generation. We will not pass quietly into the night. We will cross over and possess the land, for You are with us of a truth. I so believe this with all my heart. Help us to believe even more, help us to see more and to see further. You showed Moses the good land, yet he couldn’t enter in. Let this not be said of us. We are well able to go in and possess it. Help us to obey even more. We are rebuilders of the wall and we are repairers of the breach. Help us to be led by Your Spirit, and not our souls or minds or emotions or even our experiences. Your Word is greater than our experience. You said that as many as are led by the Spirit, THESE are the Son’s of God. Help us to see that Sonship is a position of maturity. Paul said in Galatians that it is not the child who inherits, but the son. A son knows what is going on in his Father’s house and with his Father’s business. You are waiting for the manifestation of your sons, not children. Help these truths to sink down into our hearts (Luke 9:44) and as Peter said in NKJV John 6:69 “we have come to believe and know”. We are coming to believe Lord. We are shifting spiritually. Our spiritual paradigms are being broken through and broken down. Our misconceptions and preconceptions of You are falling by the wayside. We are beginning to see who we really are in Christ. All the walls we’ve built between you and us, all the fences we’ve put up are coming down. We are Your garden Lord (1 Cor. 3:9) therefore we take out all the thorns and thistles, we uproot all the weeds, we remove all the rocks. We turn our hearts to You oh God. And we believe ~ yes we believe. All You’ve ever wanted is for us to believe. No more games Father, no more masks or facades. No more playing church. We want to be the Church. We want to proclaim You and Your greatness and majesty.

Walking together with you on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:15)

Your Brother & Servant ~ Robert

P.S. Notice something about Luke and Cleopas here in the above mentioned verse: As they “communed” and “reasoned” about these things together, the Lord Himself drew near and walked with them. As we fellowship and talk about these things, the Lord Himself draws near to us and begins to expound His Word to us, which in turn will cause our hearts to burn within us (Luke 24:32) which in turn will cause our eyes to be opened and behold Him (Luke 24:31).

What strange methods God sometimes employs in teaching His Children much needed lessons! This has recently been the writer’s experience. I have been approached by a “university” to accept from them a degree of “D. D.” Asking for time to be given so that I might prayerfully seek from God, through His written word, a knowledge of His will, fuller light came than was expected. I had very serious doubt’s as to the permissibility of one of God’s servants accepting a title of fleshly honor. I now perceive that it is wrong for me to receive it even complimentary. Various friends, as a mark of respect, have addressed me as “Dr. Pink.” I now ask them to please CEASE from doing so. Let it not be understood that I hereby condemn other men for what they allow. No, to their own Master they stand or fall. The principal passages which have helped me I now mention, praying that it may please God to also bless them to others.

FIRST, to the false comforters of Job, Elihu (God’s representative) said. “Let me not, I pray you, accept any man’s person, neither let me give FLATTERING TITLES unto men” (Job 32:31). SECOND, “Be NOT ye called Rabbi” or teacher” (Matthew 23:8), which is what “Doctor” signifies. THIRD, John 5:44 reproves those who “receive honor one of another” and bids us seek “the honor that cometh from God ONLY.” FOURTH, none of the Lord’s servants in the New Testament ever employed a title. “Paul, an apostle, “but never “the apostle Paul.” FIFTH, the Son of God “made Himself of no reputation” (Phil. 2:7); is it then fitting that His servants should now follow an opposite course? SIXTH, Christ bids us learn of Him who was “meek and lowly” (Matthew 11:29). SEVENTH, one of the marks of the apostasy as “having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage” (Jude 17). EIGHTH, we are bidden to go forth unto Christ outside the camp “bearing His reproach” (Heb. 13:13).

For these reasons it does not seem to me to be fitting that one who is here as a representative and witness for a “despised and rejected” Christ should be honored and flattered of men. Please address me as “BROTHER PINK”

One day, through the primeval wood,
A calf walked home, as good calves should;
But made a trail all bent askew,
A crooked trail as all calves do.

Since then three hundred years have fled,
And, I infer, the calf is dead.
But still he left behind his trail,
And thereby hangs my moral tale.

The trail was taken up next day
By a lone dog that passed that way;
And then a wise bell-wether sheep
Pursued the trail o’er vale and steep,
And drew the flock behind him, too,
As good bell-wethers always do.
And from that day, o’er hill and glade,
Through those old woods a path was made.

And many men wound in and out,
And dodged, and turned, and bent about
And uttered words of righteous wrath
Because ’twas such a crooked path.
But still they followed – do not laugh-
The first migrations of that calf,
And through this winding wood-way stalked,
Because he wobbled when he walked.

This forest path became a lane,
That bent, and turned, and turned again;
This crooked lane became a road,
Where many a poor horse with his load
Toiled on beneath the burning sun,
And traveled some three miles in one.
And thus a century and a half
They trod the footsteps of that calf.

The years passed on in swiftness fleet,
The road became a village street;
And this, before men were aware,
A city’s crowded thoroughfare;
And soon the central street was this
Of a renowned metropolis;
And men two centuries and a half
Trod in the footsteps of that calf.

Each day a hundred thousand rout
Followed the zigzag calf about;
And o’er his crooked journey went
The traffic of a continent.
A hundred thousand men were led
By one calf near three centuries dead.
They followed still his crooked way,
And lost one hundred years a day;
Foe thus such reverence is lent
To well-established precedent.

A moral lesson this might teach,
Were I ordained and called to preach;
For men are prone to go it blind
Along the calf-paths of the mind,

And work away from sun to sun
To do what other men have done.
They follow in the beaten track,
And out and in, and forth and back,

And still their devious course pursue,
To keep the path that others do.
They keep the path a sacred groove,
Along which all their lives they move.
But how the wise old wood-gods laugh,
Who saw the first primeval calf!
Ah! Many things this tale might teach-
But I am not ordained to preach.
